Who Are We?

The Port-Van Pointing Dog Club (PVPDC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage and foster the responsible/ethical ownership, training, and use of pointing dogs. Our membership is as diverse as our mission. We have members who are weekend warriors that use their pointing dogs for hunting and other forms of recreation. We also have members that are committed field trial enthusiasts that compete regionally and even nationally. What we all have in common is our love for the pointing breeds.

Unite with us in Port-Van!
We bring the community together.

Our Members Say

"We appreciate all the hard work that went into making the event was fun and ran smoothly. We were certainly surprised when Clifford locked in on 3 birds like a pro. He may not know what to do with them once he finds them but we’ll work up to that!

Other highlights included watching Tom Natsch’s dog hunt a mouse/shrew while tied up, a group of dogs learning how to back Jazzy while she was on point, and the chance for a few of us 2-legged folks to learn some new skills like how to plant birds and how to judge. Can’t wait for next month!"
